Getting started

Sometimes the easiest way to use NZLII is to have a browse or look around. Click on the bit on the front page that says XXX databases and it will take you to a page listing all the databases we have.

Using Cases

Each case is preceded by a number of links. The meaning of these is as follows:
  • NZLII Logo
Clicking on the NZLII Logo will take you back to the NZLII home page.

  • [Index]
Takes you to the index or home page for the current database or "collection". You normally do this if you want to continue browsing for additional cases.

  • [Search]
Lets you perform a search over the entire NZLII database (or parts of it). For details on using our search engine, see our online Search Help.

  • [LawCite]
Takes one to the LawCite page. This will display cases and articles which refer to this case, plus lists the cases that your case refers to. It provides links to the listed cases and articles if they are available on the NZLII/AustLII/WorldLII system.
  • [Download]
Clicking "Download" will take you to a page that will allow you to download the case in RTF (Rich Text Format) and/or PDF. Sometimes we may not have any downloadable versions of the case available - in this situation you can use your web browser's "File > Save as" function to download the online version of the case.
